Biography

Alan A Katz, M.D. works to assist in the healing and recovery of his patients so they may experience a greater quality of life. He has been a leader in the fields of both Hyperbaric Medicine and Emergency Medicine for over 30 years. He is double board-certified in both Hyperbaric and Emergency Medicine. His past leadership roles have ranged from regional director with a national Emergency Medicine contract management group, to academic faculty, director, and multiple chairman positions with hospital-employed and small independent emergency physician groups.

As a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Katz has also previously served as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Currently, Dr. Katz directs clinical operations, as well as education and research initiatives for Hyperbaric Medical Solutions (HMS), which is a free-standing hyperbaric medical practice with several locations in New York City, Long Island, and Fort Lauderdale. Additionally he leads AIRMedicine, a medical practice which uses multiple modalities – including the use of platelet-rich-plasma, human amniotic tissue allografts, and a combination of intravenous vitamin and mineral infusions to support tissue repair and/or to overcome illness.

Dr. Katz is also currently the President for the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) - Northeast Chapter where he is leading important conversations within the medical community, as well as the general population, about the uses and benefits of HBOT. His stated goal is to educate all, including policymakers, insurers, and other medical leaders about the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen, the needs and methods for further research, and the increased opportunities for the expanded use of HBOT.

A particular clinical interest of Dr. Katz is the incorporation of regenerative medicine procedures and techniques with hyperbaric oxygen treatment to further combat aging.
