Co-founder of the Patchogue Wellness Center with Kateri Drake, Patty Murphy graduated from the Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration in 2007 and practices as a Certified Advanced Rolfer™ and Craniosacral Therapist at the Patchogue Wellness Center.
Patty began her journey in bodywork in 2002 as a massage therapist, graduating from the Somerset School of Massage Therapy in New Jersey. After four years as a MT she found herself looking for a way to offer her clients a more permanent source of relief which led her to the Rolf Institute®.
Patty has worked with babies from just a couple of days old to adults up to 97 years young and from all walks of life. People that find themselves on Patty’s table are those in unexplained acute and chronic pain, athletes trying to improve their performance, those trying to recover after an injury, kids and adults with severe scoliosis, babies with torticollis, new moms trying to get themselves back together, postural imbalances, and day to day discomforts.
Rolfing® Structural Integration looks at the person as a whole and works to restore balance to the body giving the person’s body the ability to heal itself. Quite often problems begin outside of where the pain actually shows up and as a Rolfer™ Patty looks to take away compensations and restrictions, so the person can stand up straighter and move more freely.
Patty has trained in Craniosacral Therapy, Nerve Mobilization, Visceral Manipulation, Biomechanics of the Body, has completed a 200-hour teacher training in Hatha Yoga, and more. She continues to study with both Rolfers™ and Osteopaths.
The ability to see people as whole is what led Patty and Kateri to open the Patchogue Wellness Center in 2016 and join the Northport Wellness Center Alliance; they share a mission to address each of their patients and clients’ unique health and wellness goals with care, support and opportunities to move forward on their path of healing and recovery.
