Purvi Gandhi, M.A. CCC-SLP, TSSLD, is a New York- and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist who has practiced for 20 years. She graduated from New York University in 2004 and finished her clinical fellowship at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation and Medicine. Purvi has worked with adults, children and infants, including those in neonatal intensive care, and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and developmental delays.
Purvi’s experience includes providing early intervention, evaluation and treatment of children ages 3-6 years old at New York City’s HeartShare First Step Preschool who were diagnosed with a variety of speech-language and autism disorders.
She performed evaluations for the New York City Board of Education and maintains a private practice in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York, specializing in pediatric speech-language and communication disorders.
Purvi conducted neurological research at NYU in collaboration with her professor and managed the school’s voice lab as a research assistant. She also presented a paper on short-term auditory retention at the National Student Speech-Hearing-Language Association. Her study focused on the retention of syllables and words over different time spans. She has received honors and awards from NYU, is Level II PROMPT-trained and uses the Kaufman Speech Language Protocol with her apraxia clients.

During therapy, she employs her knowledge, expertise and technology to deliver the highest quality services to each client. Her ultimate objective is to transition each client’s communication skills from a learned environment to a functional environment, like school and home. She also trains families and caregivers, teaches in the community and provides direct treatment to clients with diverse special needs. Purvi's practice respects each client’s unique treatment needs.
