Woodbury, NY (April 20, 2017) — Hyperbaric Medical Solutions (HMS), an affiliate of the Northport Wellness Center, recently announced that it will be joining Mount Sinai Health Partners IPA, becoming its only participating provider of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).
HMS utilizes hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to help treat diabetic foot ulcers and other non-healing wounds, radiation tissue damage, severe anemia, and thermal burns, as well as non-FDA approved conditions (off-label) such as traumatic brain injury (concussions), Multiple Sclerosis, Lyme disease, and other inflammatory processes. HBOT is a non-invasive treatment providing pure oxygen to a patient in a controlled environment. This increase in oxygen can promote stem cell mobilization, create new blood vessels, increase blood flow, and reduce inflammation and pain, as well as other benefits. Since its establishment in 2011, HMS has been an affiliate of the Northport Wellness Center.
Mount Sinai Health Health Partners IPA is a network of Mount Sinai Hospial faculty and other physicians committed to providing high-quality, low-cost, community care. Together with HMS, the IPA is focused on creating access and improve the health care experience for patients.
Through this new association, HMS will be able to expand its clientele, helping even more people. Mount Sinai Health Partners IPA now has its first and only member that provides this safe, alternative therapy, giving network physicians and their patients another treatment option to accelerate healing and play a significant role towards recovery. As a free-standing, non-hospital-based hyperbaric provider, HMS is uniquely positioned to be able to deliver HBOT at the most cost-effective option for patients—meeting the mission of both organizations.
