Biography

Northport Wellness Center Alliance Member and Occupational Therapist Sara Pereira MS,OTR/L founded Sensational Development Occupational Therapy in 2009 with her mother, Patricia Rutledge, OTR/L. Sensational Development  is a pediatric occupational therapy practice with locations  in Massapequa and East Northport.

Sara and Patti saw the need for private occupational therapy services within their community and  created a place that could help children and parents grow and thrive.  They understand the importance of working with the child’s whole team to support the development of the child and the parents’ journey.

Sensational Development was created as a place where children can feel safe and welcomed and parents can be educated on the areas of development that are impacting their child's day to day activities.

Sara graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2005.  Sara’s professional experiences have taken her to outpatient clinics, both private and public schools, early intervention, behavioral health schools, acute and residential psychiatric settings and home health.

After working in a variety of pediatric settings, Sara was drawn back to Sensory Integration clinics and outpatient OT.  Sara completed a Mentorship at Lucy Miller's STAR Center in Denver and after moving back to NY, Sara and Patti started Sensational Development.

Sara's passion for living a holistic lifestyle has driven her in both practice and in caring for her family. Sara lives in Amityville with her husband and 3 young daughters.

Sensational Development Occupational Therapy has an office in Massapequa at 669 Broadway and in East Northport at 378 Larkfield Road #2.
